The Five Towns sit on the southwest corner of Nassau County between the Nassau Expressway, Jamaica Bay and Rockaway Turnpike, about 20 minutes from our office down Peninsula Boulevard. We treat them as one route: a technician who starts in Hewlett in the morning usually finishes in Lawrence or Inwood by the afternoon, which is why Five Towns same-day requests get filled.
Our owner lived in Woodmere for years, so we know the houses: center-hall colonials and Tudors with carpeted stairs and second floors, finished basements that take water in a nor'easter, waterfront homes in Hewlett Harbor and Back Lawrence with wool and silk rugs, and the Central Avenue apartments in Cedarhurst where the super wants a certificate of insurance before the hose comes in. We also know the calendar: the weeks before Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, Pesach and Thanksgiving are when the whole Five Towns books at once, and we add technicians for them.
From our own dispatch records, July 1 to October 8, 2026: Hewlett 13 appointments (rugs, carpet, sofas), Woodmere 10 (carpet, sofas, a mattress), Lawrence 3 (carpet, including a house of worship), and the Hewlett, Woodmere and Lawrence jobs together came to 20 completed and paid visits. Typical bookings: three sofas, three rugs and a staircase in one Hewlett visit; a bedroom, hallway and staircase in Woodmere; two bedrooms and a hallway in Lawrence.
1920s to 1950s colonials and split-levels on tree-lined streets, plus the larger waterfront homes in Hewlett Harbor and Hewlett Bay Park with wool and hand-knotted rugs on hardwood. 13 appointments since July.
Tudors, center-hall colonials and expanded capes, many with finished basements and wall-to-wall carpet on the second floor and stairs. 10 appointments since July.
A mix of single-family colonials and the co-op and rental apartments along Central Avenue, where we work around building rules, elevators and certificate-of-insurance requests. on our daily route.
Some of the largest homes on the South Shore: big colonials and estates with wool and silk rugs, long carpeted hallways, multiple living rooms and sectionals that see a lot of guests. 3 appointments since August.
Smaller single-family homes and two-family houses, many with bedroom carpet and basement apartments that get damp from the bay. on our daily route.
